Of 5,006 ratings, 71% are five stars and 9% are one or two. Adjustability draws 214 mentions, and 100% are positive. Comfort reads 87% positive across 945 mentions, and neck support 84% positive across 135.

What is missing matters as much. Flatness, a leading complaint for the Puredown Goose Feather & Down Pillow, Cotton Cover and the Pacific Coast Goose Feather & Down Hotel Pillow, does not appear among this pillow's top topics at all. Thickness is 25% negative over 152 mentions and softness 29% negative over 388, so the layers solve most loft problems, though not every one.

Fill and feel

Three feather inserts inside a fiber case

Each pillow is a 20 by 28 inch outer case filled with polyester fiber, zipped around three inner pillows of goose feather that each measure 18 by 26 inches. Take an insert out and the pillow drops a layer, and with all three inside you get the tallest loft. The details table names soft, medium and firm at once, because the feel depends on how many inserts you keep.

Your face rests on the fiber layer of the outer case, and the feathers sit underneath as the support. That arrangement is why feather and down basics on our down and feather page only half describe this pillow.

Cover and proof

A 1000 thread count case and a factory certificate

The outer case is 100% cotton at 1000 thread count, per the maker. Three Geese's OEKO-TEX certificate, SHHO 040260, is valid but held by a Hangzhou down factory, Zhejiang Shengli Down Products Co., Ltd., and neither RDS nor DOWNPASS confirmed the brand or its factory. A certificate you can look up, even one held by the factory, is why materials and proof score 8.0.

Size and loft

Standard/queen only, in two builds

Both options are queen pairs at 28 by 20 inches outside: Adjustable Pillow 1.0 and a gusseted Adjustable Pillow 4.0. There is no king. Three Geese names side, back and stomach sleepers, and the inserts are what make that claim workable: a stomach sleeper can run on one layer while a side sleeper keeps all three.

Care

Washable, with no drying instructions given

Machine washing is allowed, Three Geese says, which earns care 10.0. The product page gives no drying instructions, so read the sewn-in tag before the inserts go in a dryer.

Value

The price of layers

A pair of Adjustable Pillow 1.0 costs $89.98, or $44.99 a pillow, against a $34.99 median for feather and down. For comparison, the Puredown feather pair scores 6.5 at $20, so the question is whether three removable layers are worth the gap to you. Three Geese publishes no trial and no warranty. More from the maker is on the Three Geese brand page, and the field is ranked in the best adjustable pillows.
