Our read on Pacific Coast
Pacific Coast lands in the lower middle of our table. Its five ranked feather and down pillows score between 5.9 and 6.5, with the Firm Goose Feather & Down Pillow on top and averages of 4.0 to 4.2 stars. Flatness is the recurring complaint, and the certification shown on the product pages did not hold up to a public lookup. The Adjustable Cooling Down Pillow scores 7.8, but on just 82 ratings, so treat it as an early read.
The lineup
Every Pacific Coast pillow we score
9 models, from $30 to $109.99 per pillow. The best ranked scorer is the Firm Goose Feather & Down Pillow at 6.5; models marked early read have under 300 ratings and are scored but not ranked.

The company
Who is behind Pacific Coast
Pacific Coast Feather Company runs the brand and its website, pacificcoast.com. The US trademark for PACIFIC COAST pillows, Reg. No. 1949211, was first registered to Pacific Coast Feather Company in 1996. Its current owner of record is West Coast Textiles LLC of Auburn, Washington, and the registration was renewed in March 2026.
If you buy through a retailer, check who is selling. On the product page we read, the seller is listed as Pacific Coast Feather, and its profile describes a trading company in Hangzhou, China. The public records we read do not show how that seller relates to the trademark owner.
History
Pacific Coast history
The brand says "since 1884," and the family roots do reach that far. Joseph Hanauer founded a bed-feather company in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1884. Pacific Coast Feather Company itself was founded in Seattle in 1924, and the Hanauer family acquired it around 1940. In 1994 the company patented ComfortLock stitching, designed to stop down from shifting inside the pillow.
Ownership has changed several times since. Hollander Sleep Products bought the company from the Hanauer family in 2017. Two years later, in May 2019, Hollander filed for Chapter 11, citing in part the capital it needed to integrate Pacific Coast Feather, and in September 2019 its assets were sold for about $102 million to Bedding Acquisition LLC.
Wikipedia reports that Keeco, LLC of Hayward, California, acquired the business in 2021. We could not confirm that deal on a primary page, and the brand does not publish its current headquarters.
Materials
What Pacific Coast pillows are made of
Pacific Coast names its fills precisely. The Premium White Goose Down Pillow on its website lists white goose down at 650 fill power inside a baffle-box shell. On the three-chamber hotel pillow, goose feathers fill an inner chamber for support and down fills the outer chamber. Most of the ranked pillows we score name feather as their main fill, while the 650 Fill Power Down Pillow's product page lists 75% duck down and 25% grey duck feather. Our down and feather guide explains fill power and feather share.
The certification picture needs care. Pacific Coast claims the Responsible Down Standard and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The OEKO-TEX number on one product page, 19.HBD.87121, is valid in the public lookup, but it is registered to a denim garment maker in Bangladesh and covers trousers and shorts, not pillows or down. RDS certification was not verified.
Policies
Trial, returns and warranty
Buy on PacificCoast.com and you get 180 days to return eligible pillows, with a prepaid label and no restocking fee. The pillow must come back clean, unwashed and free of stains, odors and pet hair, and original shipping is not refunded. Pillows bought from other retailers cannot be returned through Pacific Coast. The brand publishes no standard warranty term: its FAQ says coverage varies by product and asks buyers to contact support.

Questions
Pacific Coast questions
Who owns Pacific Coast pillows now, if you are buying one today?
The trademark's owner of record is West Coast Textiles LLC of Auburn, Washington. Hollander Sleep Products bought the company in 2017, and its assets were sold in 2019 after a Chapter 11 filing. Wikipedia reports a 2021 sale to Keeco, LLC, which we could not confirm on a primary page.
Can you return a Pacific Coast pillow you bought from another store?
Not through Pacific Coast. Its 180-day return policy covers only purchases on PacificCoast.com, so a pillow bought elsewhere goes back under that retailer's rules.
How should you wash a Pacific Coast down pillow?
Pacific Coast says to machine wash cold on a gentle cycle unless the label says otherwise, then tumble dry low until no damp clumps remain. It suggests washing about once a season and using a protector in between. Break up any clumps by hand once the pillow is dry.
Is the OEKO-TEX label on your Pacific Coast pillow valid?
The number shown on one product page is a real, valid certificate, but the OEKO-TEX lookup assigns it to a Bangladesh denim garment maker for trousers and shorts. It does not show a certificate for the pillow. If the label matters to you, ask for a certificate issued for the pillow itself, and see our Puredown vs Pacific Coast comparison for a close rival.
