One rating in ten is a single star, and 66% are five, so opinion pulls toward both ends. Weight is the topic that stands out. It comes up 145 times and 77% of those mentions are negative, more than flatness draws. Value for money follows close behind, 225 mentions with 59% negative.
Cooling, the reason for this version, splits 65% positive and 35% negative across 356 mentions. Firmness divides almost in half, 48 to 52, and flatness is 74% negative across 96 mentions.
Fill and feel
One piece of TEMPUR foam, with gel on both faces
Tempur-Pedic describes a single piece of its TEMPUR material in an extra-soft feel, with a layer of its cooling technology added to both sides. The maker says the foam helps relieve aches and pains, a claim we do not repeat as fact. If ongoing neck pain is why you are shopping, a clinician is the better first stop.
Size and loft
6.4 inches thick or 3 inches of loft?
The bullets give the queen as 27 by 19 by 6.4 inches and call it a medium profile for all positions. A separate loft field reads 3 inches. The two figures do not agree, so if height is critical for you, measure your current pillow and ask the maker before you order. At 5 pounds, it is a heavy pillow, which helps explain the weight complaints.
Value
Priced far above the plain TEMPUR-Cloud
A single queen costs $130.90 and a single king $156.40. In pairs, the price per pillow falls to $114.50 for queen and $129.50 for king. The median for TEMPUR foam pillows is $74.50.
The plain TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow costs $71.40 and scores 6.5, higher than this version. Unless the cooling layers are the whole point for you, it is the better Cloud on our numbers. Every Tempur-Pedic model we score is on the Tempur-Pedic brand page.
