Fill and feel

Two chambers, one zipper, a soft side and a firm side

Purple calls the design patented. Two chambers sit inside one pillow, and you zip and flip to put the softer or the firmer one on top. The fill is silicone-coated down alternative fiber with gel fiber mixed in, inside a 100% cotton cover, and the maker says the fibers stay airy and never clump.

Stomach, back and side sleepers all appear in the pitch. With two settings and no loose fill, though, you choose between two feels instead of tuning a height.

Size

Seventeen inches deep in both sizes

Standard measures 24 by 17 inches and king 34 by 17. Check the depth if your pillowcases are cut for a deeper pillow.

Value

$83 against a $25 median

A standard TwinCloud costs $83 and a king $100, one pillow each. Fiber pillows that score higher cost a fraction of that: the Serta Medium Soft Bed Pillow scores 7.4 at $25.00 a pillow, and the JOLLYVOGUE Down Alternative Pillows, Set of 4 scores 7.5 at $9.25.

Purple gives 30 nights on direct purchases if the pillow is clean and undamaged, plus a 1-year limited warranty for the original buyer. Care instructions are missing from the product page, and care scores 5. Other Purple models are on the Purple brand page.
