QUTOOL covers both sides in a fabric that is half "silky ice" and half polyester, rates it at Q-Max above 0.5, and claims twice the cool contact area of a one-sided pillow. The same listing adds a catch: a regular fabric pillowcase cancels the coolness. Its advice is satin or silk, plus a cooling blanket in an air-conditioned room.
Sleep on a cotton case and the ice fabric sits under a layer you actually touch. That could explain part of the even split in buyer reports.
